Hello wonderful people! Please add your URL inks to my page.
Tell me about your advertisement:
1. Describe your product and what it does
2. Explain why you believe it will sell
3. Who is your target audience?
4. Why will people want to buy your product?
How will you convince people to buy your product?

Your Blogs
We are taking a break from designing the product/packaging because I want you to write about your experiences in your learning diary.
1. First make sure their is a link from my page to your page. If there is not see me now!
2. Tell me about your product:
- who will it sell to?
- why will it sell? (don't just say: because it's never been made before)
- how will you advertise it?
- what will it look like?
- how will it work?
3. Tell me about your packaging
This is the most important aspect of the product as far as its 'sellability'
- What will make your packaging 'stand out from the crowd'
have fun!

A lot to do Today
1. Make sure there is a picture of you on your blog.
To do this sign in, view your blog.
At the top of the screen there is a tab that says "customize". Click this and wait for the new screen to finish downloading.
Click "Add new page element" and select picture/photo.
Click the "browse" button.
Select "My Computer" --> "Data on shgc..." --> "Curriculum" --> "Media Studies" --> "Year 9" --> "Photos" and find the picture of you. Open it and wait for it to add to your blog.
2. Make sure you have completed all the questions listed on the last entry of my blog
3. Add your URL to my blog page - it's complicated so see me when you have finished everything else.
Don't forget: Ask three before me, and if you are waiting: play around with your blog; learn how to do the things you want to do yourself; and get your blog looking the way you want it.

Blog Exercise
In media you are going to be using a fair bit of technology. The way I teach Media is a cross between technology, communications, ICT and English. We will be exploring the way technology is used in our society and the power it has to persuade people. One of the ways technology persuades people is through advertising.
- We will be watching advertisements to see how they work. We will design our own 'products' and create advertisements to 'sell' these products.
- We will use Publisher to create an ad for a magazinebut probably the fun bit will be when
- we actually write and film a TV ad for our products.
- The whole time we will be recording what we have done and learnt on our blogs. They will act as a learning diary. It's a bit like Bebo without the bad language.
What I want to know is:
What do you want to learn in Media?
What are you excited about doing the most?
What product are you intending to advertise? What ideas has your group discussed about how you will advertise it?
Type a response in your blog.

First Day Blogging
Today: I want you to create your own Blog. If you have one already it wont hurt, but I want a separate one for school work. Go to http://www.blogger.com/ (I think) from there the instructions should be relatively clear. Once you have created your Blog link everyone's URL to your page, and if you have time add other links as well. I will be checking your Blogs frequently so keep it clean. Depending on how long I've been blabbering on before I let you jump on the computers I would like you to write a short note about yourself as your first entry. That's it. Personalise your blog until you are happy with it, you can put relevant photos on there, change the colours etc. Make it you.
